A tough-guy cop's overbearing mother comes to visit.
When Sgt. Joe Bomowski's (Sylvester Stallone) mother, Tutti (Estelle Getty) comes to visit she wastes no time to start meddling in his life. Then, when she mistakenly buys him an illegal gun she becomes embroiled in his ongoing investigation. Will Joe and his mother learn to get along and solve the crime? Find out in, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!
Stallone calls this the worst movie he's ever done. Considering the movie Rhinestone exists he might be a little hyperbolic here. Or maybe too many Golden Girls re-runs have melted my brain. Either way, this wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen. Estelle Getty has her moments and it's always fun to see Stallone get humiliated.
My favourite thing about this movie is the behind-the-scenes story in that Arnold Schwarzenegger pretended to be interested in the project therefore tricking Stallone into taking the role. Might be one of the most devious pranks I've ever heard of.
So, if you're interested in seeing Stallone embarrass himself for 87 minutes, give this a look

Why you should watch:
- You're interested in early 90s film oddities.
- You want to see Stallone in an embarrassing role.
Why you shouldn't watch:
- It's slow, and really not that funny or compelling.
